Varroa destructor (Varroa Jacobsoni) is commonly known as the varroa mite in beekeeping. It not only reduces the weight and life span of the bees but also spreads pathogens and viruses. It is the most serious pest of bees in the world.

Fluvalinate Strips (known as Apistan strips or varroa mites strips) were widely used by beekeepers as a product for varroa control decades ago. After years of use, varroa mites have begun to show resistance. On the basis of the original Fluvalinate strips, penetrant and sustained-release agents are added in the Weipeng Fluvalinate strip, which could significantly enhance the efficiency and increase the persistence. The varroa mites (Varroa Jacobsoni) killing rate was still as high as 95%.

Product Information

Pharmacological Action: Fluvalinate Strips are of acaricides, killing mites majorly through contact killing and stomach poisoning. It works in every growth stage of mites, acts on eggs, nymphs, and adult mites, and possesses rather strong rapid availability and long sustainable effectiveness.

Cautions

1. The Fluvalinate Strips can’t be placed continuously inside the hive for more than eight weeks;

2. When hanging strips, make sure to wear protective gloves.

3. Abandoned drug strips mustn’t be used repeatedly, instead, they should be destroyed with centralized disposal;

4. No contact with edible honey and no storage with pesticides or other chemicals together;

5. Open the package just before the immediate use;

6. Use it prudently on a cloudy rainy day or when the temperature is lower than 20℃ ;

7. Because there are differences in air temperature, region, the population of a bee colony, and bee individuals, try out one swarm or two before the use of the medicine, observe for 24 hours, and adjust the dosage according to the effect to kill mites and bee safety in order to reach the best effect to kill mites.

Usage and Dosage: Use 1 fluvalinate strip for each 10 brood frames per week for 3 to 4 weeks as a course of treatment, then the varroa can be controlled for 6 to 8 weeks (depending on the severity of the varroa damage). (dosage can be increased or reduced in terms of the honey bee's actual situation).
